Chelsea announced this morning that 19-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been tested positive for COVID-19.
The England winger was said to be showing signs of the virus on Monday, and since then has not been at their Surrey training ground as a precaution.
Hudson-Odoi posted an update on his condition via Twitter this morning:
The men’s first team building at the training ground has undergone a deep clean and is now closed. Chelsea players and staff who’ve had contact with Hudson-Odoi are now in self-isolation, following Government guidelines.
Chelsea insisted that despite the diagnosis, the player is doing well:
Callum is doing well and looking forward to returning to the training ground as soon as possible. We wish Callum a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the club soon.’
