Cheltenham Town manager Michael Duff: EFL Trophy fixture against Portsmouth a “free hit”

After their best ever start to a Football League season, Cheltenham Town next face the challenge of League One opposition Portsmouth in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Despite, the obvious challenge of facing a team from the division above, manager Michael Duff insisted that this match would be a “free hit”.

“They’ve got a good manager, a good squad and a good way of playing, so we know that we will be up against it, but it’s a free hit,” he said.

“Along with Sunderland and Ipswich, they are the biggest team left in the competition.”
