Cheltenham Festival: Politologue beats Defi Du Seuil to win Queen Mother Champion Chase

Politologue has won the 3.30 Queen Mother Champion Chase, beating heavy favourite Defi Du Seuil.

The 6/1 second-favourite led from the start, with Dynamite Dollars and Bun Doran finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Barry Geraghty was on for his third winner of the day, but 2/5 favourite Defi Du Seuil finished far back in fourth.

Politologue owner John Hales, speaking of jockey Harry Skelton, said: “Tactically Harry got it completely right.”

Skelton was speechless after his first win at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. “What can I say. This is magic, this is what this horse can do. I am just so grateful to everyone who gave me the opportunity,” he said.
