Champ was triumphant in a dramatic 2.10 Novices’ Steeple Chase victorious as he timed his charge to perfection.
At 4/1 Champ astonishingly claimed victory as he overtook favourites Minella Indo and Allaho, who had both been ahead of him as he took the final fence.

Winning jockey Barry Geraghty said: “He was on the backfoot all the way. They’ve worked on hard to get him where he is and it paid dividends today”.
With Champ securing victory, Minella Indo finished second and Allaho came third.
