Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has been handed a grid penalty ahead of this weekend’s Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia.
Leclerc will receive a 10 place grid penalty for taking a new control electronics power unit component, having already taken his allowance on new parts ahead of the first race in Sakhir.
It’s been an awful start to the season for the Monegasque driver who didn’t finish in Bahrain following an issue with the car which called for the new parts to be installed.
Teammate Carlos Sainz came in fourth in Sakhir, losing out on a podium to fellow Spaniard Fernando Alonso, sealing an awful weekend for the Tifosi.
The penalty causes a big issue for the Scuderia, who are looking to take a bigger push towards Red Bull this season, having seen the Austrian team pull away comfortably last season.
