BREAKING NEWS: Cinderford Town disqualified from GFA Senior Challenge Cup final as club chair steps down

Cinderford Town have announced they have been disqualified from the GFA Senior Challenge Cup final due to fielding an ineligible player.

The Foresters lose their place in the final against Bishops Cleeve for breaking the infringement during their semi-final win against Bristol Manor Farm.

Manor Farm have since been reinstated by the Gloucestershire FA and will face the Mitres in the final on Sunday, June 1.

As well as the disqualification the club have announced that chair, Sara Legge, will be stepping down with immediate effect due to “personal reasons.”

In a statement released by the club Legge said:

“I’m stepping down as chair due to personal reasons however will continue to support the club. I’ve enjoyed being the figured head especially being a female chair and it has been a pleasure. I give the club my best wishes for the future.”

The Foresters sit rock bottom of the Southern League Div One South, 11 points from safety.
