Confirmation is expected to come later today, with the players told not to report to morning training at Cobham.
This news has come despite the Blues progressing into the fifth round of the FA Cup, as they defeated Championship side, Luton Town by 3-1 on Sunday.
However there has been growing frustrations at Chelsea with their dire League form which currently has them placed 9th in the Premier League table.
Whether an interim manager is likely to be appointed remains to be seen, but it also has been reported that the Blues hierarchy are looking into hiring a German manager, in the hope of getting the best out of their new summer recruits- Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
Thomas Tuchel and Ralph Rangnick are the two leading favourites to takeover at SW6 according to the bookies.
Former Blues player Andriy Shevchenko has also been touted around as a possible replacement.
