Attention turns back to the Jersey Mike’s trophy for Cheltenham Town as they look to welcome Tottenham Hotspur U21 to the EV Charger Points Stadium tomorrow evening.
Last time out in the cup, the Robins secured a dramatic victory over Exeter City following a penalty shootout, seeing Steve Cotterill’s side go second in the group.
However, for Tottenham it has been a more difficult start in the cup, sitting bottom of the group following their 2-0 defeat to Exeter in their opening Jersey Mike’s Trophy fixture.
Despite this, it has been a strong start to the season for the Lilywhites in the U21 Premier League 2, where they sit at the top of the table, securing 10 points from their opening fixtures.
They have also made an impactful start to their Premier League International Cup campaign, sitting top of the table after their 3-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb U23’s on the opening matchday.
Last October the sides met for the first time, also in a Jersey Mike’s Trophy fixture which saw Cheltenham take a 3-1 victory on penalties following a 2-2 draw in regular time.
