Its going to be a Tuesday night to remember for Tuffley Rovers fans as they travel to local rivals Cinderford, to face the Foresters.
Its the first meeting between the two sides this season, with Cinderford sitting in sixth, a point outside the playoffs, Neil Mustoe’s men sit three points behind with a game in hand.
Both teams having lots to play for even this early in the campaign, yet Tuffley are the side with the most to prove after being on the wrong end of a 6-0 battering in the final game of last season in the same fixture at The Causeway.
Captain Jack Watts was on hand to bag a hattrick that day, so the Poets can only hope he leaves his shooting boots at home this time around.
The number six has become a bit of a bogey number for Tuffley as they crashed out the FA Vase last weekend with another 6-0 away defeat this time to Rugby Town.
The home side Cinderford advanced against Cheltenham Saracens from the division below, but it wasn’t smooth sailing as the Foresters won the game 3-2 thanks to a last minute winner from Jordan Annear.
Certainly a tough challenge for the Poets, as Cinderford are yet to lose at home this season, yet scoring six goals in their last league games will certainly give the travelling fans some confidence.
