Paul Collicutt is expecting a challenge for his Bishops Cleeve side away at Frome Town this Saturday, calling them “the best team we’ve played.”
Frome sit top of the league by 12 points, while Cleeve are two points off the play offs with two games in hand, despite facing the best team in the league, Collicutt will still be expecting the same football from his side.
“The only way I know of playing football is to attack and that’s what we we will look to try and do, they’ve got the best goal difference in the league.”
Another huge test awaits, as The Mitres travel to runaway leaders @FromeTownFC for an epic @SouthernLeague1 league tussle đ„

Collicutt’s last visits to Frome have always been eventful, for the right and the wrong reasons, Collicutt explained that:
“It’s always been a tricky place to go. Over the years I’ve had my ups and downs at Frome.
“I’ve had players sent off, players go off and end up in hospital. There always seems to be something that goes on when we go and play Frome at their place.”
Cleeve are unbeaten in their last five league games, however they have drawn three of these fixtures, Collicutt believes that it is crucial to turn these draws into three points.
“It’s massive, but then you look at who we’ve played in the last five games and the wins we’ve had, but we’re going to go there with confidence, you don’t win anything with just 11 players, the impact from the bench has been crucial this year and long may that continue.”
Collicutt also stressed how crucial making the most out of the games in hand are, saying that “it’s very, very, very important. I’d rather have the points and not have any games in hand. We’re going to be chasing between now and the end of the season.”
Cleeve are not worried about Frome’s league position tomorrow, believing that they can walk away with all three points despite Frome’s brilliant home record.
Collicutt said “the mentality comes from within the club, it’s my job to try and keep the players on their toes.
“It’s about getting those three points. By hook or by crook, terams are going to be playing out of their skin tomorrow, whether they are playing at the bottom or at the top, no game between now and the end of the season is easy.
“Sometimes the teams challenging for promotion come out on top, but then there’s other clubs at the bottom who will beat teams at the top, it’s never pretty whether you play at the top or the bottom.”
The manager used Wolves’ recent win against Liverpool as an example, saying that “you’ve only got to look at what happened in the Premier League the other day when Wolves beat Liverpool, it’s all about your fighting stature, the mentality is so different to what it is when you’re winning the league.”
So, can Bishops Cleeve use that underdog fighting mentality to go and beat Frome Town away on Saturday?
