“Outstanding” Mehmeti stars in Bristol City’s 3–0 triumph vs Swansea

Anis Mehmeti provided all three assists in Bristol’s victory vs Swansea on Saturday further emphasising the importance of The Robins agreeing a new contract with the Albanian international.

Bristol City showcased a new system, moving away from the usual solo centre forward and instead using a strike partnership of Sinclair Armstrong and Emil Riis Jakobsen.

The new look line up saw Mehmeti drop into a more deep role than what he usually plays but that didn’t stop his production.

Mehmeti has picked up 5 goals and 6 assists so far in the championship this season in what looks to be his best spell in a Bristol shirt.

Teammate Riis Jakobsen was full of praise for the winger, “he’s a goal scorer as well, he’s very happy.

He did well today, he said before the season he wants to bring more assists to the team, he’s doing that this year so he’s doing really well.”

Despite such a great form Gerhard Struber insists he still has “space to grow.”

“He has potential to be, in the future, a really outstanding player”, the prospect of a further improved Mehmeti is an exciting thought for robins’ fans although the question on whether he will be there post July still looms.

Stuber assured fans that he is “in a really good exchange”, with both Mehmeti as well as Zak Vyner.

Further stating that he “would love to work with Mehmeti and Vyner in the future.”

With a contract on the table for both players, it will be a waiting game for both as they wait to see where their futures lie.
