The sporting gods are doing their best to keep us entertained with live action across the globe.

It’s still uncertain whether we will see the conclusion of the Premier League with Watford Striker Troy Deeney the latest player to voice his concerns, there was action in a variety of sports and here are some you may have missed.

GOLF

Rory McIIroy partnered Dustin Johnson in a skins game against Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff at Seminole Golf Club, Florida, USA.

Things you love to see. No caddies, elite golfers carrying their own bags and a stack of money raised.

Are we getting a glimpse into the future of golf for the foreseeable?

The match still managed to provide plenty of excitement the skins match went down to a sudden-death tie-breaker hole – not to mention for £910,000 for charity.

HORSE RACING

Whilst everyone stopped, the Americans kept going. Full cards from Golden Gate Fields, Gulfstream, Remmington Park amongst others have to continued to turn English punters into American racing experts.

Its almost inconceivable that the ‘favourite’ or Trap 1 doesn’t win (something I’ve learnt this weekend) If you can look past the somewhat annoying commentary, this flat racing could be the way to find that fix.

Cards in Asia, South Africa and France also took place, with ‘elite’ level racing returning to France today.

DARTS

It may not be the Premier League nor have the same excitement as the Worlds, but the PDC Home Tour has seen some of the top seeds be able to compete and put on a show.

The likes of Gary Anderson, Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross have all been in action whilst Phil Taylor was back on the TV last week.

Where there is a will, there is a way and the Hearn/Matchroom empire strikes again to ensure the cash keeps coming and the darts profile rises even more.

UFC

Without doubt the ‘show’ of the weekend maybe even eclipsing the Bungesliga.

Whilst on the pitch in Germany you picked up shouts and cries from the managers and coaching staff on the sideline (Albeit in German)..

Over in America, you heard every punch, kick and elbow thrown with all its venom, it was compelling viewing for everyone, the fighters being able to hear to the oppositions instruction from the other corner.

Maybe the biggest news coming from the show that UFC boss Dana White stating he has ‘securing the use of an unspecified Island, dubbed ‘Fight Island’ to host international fights in the coming months’. – WOW.

FOOTBALL

‘I’M BACK’ – Say no more.

If the weekends football wasn’t enough to get you back into the swing of things, read PLS’s Bobby Vicent preview to tonight’s Bundesliga mtch between Werder Bremen V Bayer Leverkusen with all stats you need to know.
