Upon the announcement Bristol City Women first team manager, Tanya Oxtoby (currently away from the club on maternity leave), said of Dykes, “Possibly one of the most amazing human beings and role models to have graced the game…I look forward to seeing how she continues to inspire the next generation.”

Dykes leaves behind a legacy in the women’s game having helped Bristol City win promotion to the WSL and played for the side in the Women’s Champions League in 2014. She was also appointed an MBE in 2019 for her services to women’s football in Wales.
