Jess Leach got her first career hattrick on the hour mark and assistant manager Mike Harris said it was full deserved.
“Delighted for Jess to get a goal, she works so hard in training and Izzy to join the score list is important for her too, so they’ve done really well today and put on a good show and fingers crossed that’s the start of more to come.”
An own goal from Pucklechurch in the 82nd made it 10
An 89th minute thunderbolt saw Emily Owen get her hattrick, making it 11-0 to the Robinesses.
Pucklechurch Sports who sit 5th in the Bristol and District League were given praise from assistant manager Harris.
“Well done to Pucklechurch, they battled really hard, the competition is new this year so we’re finding out what it is and how it is going to work. I thought they battled really hard in the circumstances and the goalkeeper made some great save so well done to the girls for keeping their heads up and seeing it through.”
Jess Leach and Issy Newns who aren’t usually starters for the Robinesses made an impact yesterday afternoon, one which assistant manager Mike Harris hopes they can take into next few game.
“I think it was about habits today rather than the scoreline, we wanted to give players opportunities that haven’t had those opportunities and Jess and Izzy have got some goals under their belts now so they could potentially impact games in the coming weeks
“That’s what we want (selection headaches) we want a squad of players that can contribute and ask questions of us on the sidelines
The Robinesses are back in league action next Sunday as they host Watford in the Women’s National League Southern Division at Kayte Lane.
“Watford are a good side and it will always be a difficult game but we go in with some good momentum and decent results over the last few months so fingers crossed we’ll go and produce another performance.”
