Following Tuesday’s victory away to Bradford City, Forest Green Rovers climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time in months, and they take on the side below them in the league in Sutton United this weekend.
Rovers have seen a recent turnaround in form since the appointment of former Cheltenham Town manager Steve Cotterill, who guided the Robins to the EFL back in 2002.
Cotterill has picked up four wins and two draws since his appointment in January since taking over from former Watford striker Troy Deeney in January.
Cotterill, speaking to Rovers Youtube channel, heaped praise on his goalkeeper Vincente Reyes following Tuesday’s win.
“Well it is his job at the end of the day that’s why he’s a goalkeeper but he’s been brilliant Vinnie since he’s come in, and they (the players) have got to look after themselves now, they’ve got a big game coming up on Saturday”
Rovers have the edge in recent fixtures against Saturday’s opponents as they’re undefeated in their last four match-ups.
Sutton come into the match in a real rough patch of form with only one victory in the league since the turn of the new year.
Saturday’s visitors currently sit six points away from safety, having played a game more than Rovers.
Cotterill has rejuvenated a side that looked down and out before the turn of the year, and have given themselves a huge opportunity to help solidify their Football League status this weekend.
