“I want to be positive going forward, we’re all so lucky to beat a wonderful football club. We’re on a journey, we know that and there will be bumps in the road.
“You know, the group needs education, it needs help, because when we’ve put this young, dynamic squad together, we knew at a point they would have a little bit of a dip.
“It was such a great start, did we believe we’ve got all the answers? No. At that point, if you believe that, you know, you’ll drop your standards and your desire.
“What we need to do now as a group is to search for more answers and get better. Because I’m the leader of this group and they need my help, they need John McMahon’s help, they need all of our help.”
Rovers currently sit in sixth comfortably in the playoff spots and their next match is home against Woking on Tuesday night.
“It’s going to be a tough game. It was a tough game down at there ground. There currently mid table and they’ve had a great run in the trophy, getting to the quarterfinal.
“Neil Ardley’s doing a good job, they got some good players. It’s going to be a tough test and while we’re a little bit fragile.
“I’m sure they’ll be looking at our results, even though we’ve only lost four in the league and if we win and results go for us, I think we can go up to third or fourth.
“So it’s a big game for us, especially with the games coming up with York, Rochdale and Carlisle so it’s a huge month.”
