Cheltenham Festival: The top three horses for day two

Day two of the Cheltenham Festival is officially here and after a spectacular first day of action, the big-hitters will be looking to continue the theme of the favourites emerging victorious.

Constitution Hill and Honeysuckle both stormed to victory on the opening day, captivating the hearts of race-goers who backed the pair to win.

The second day of the Festival promises to be equally thrilling with several candidates for all seven races. However, there are three key horses you should keep your eye on.

Impaire Et Passe – Novices’ Hurdle

It’s Women’s Day at the races and there is no better way to kick-start the day than placing Impaire Et Passe in the best position to finish the Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle with Gold.

With an impressive runout at Punchetown in January, where Impaire Et Passe finished the race by lengths, the reputation for the five-year-old horse has continued to grow in the Cheltenham Festival.

As the jockey Paul Townend gets ready to return to the green colours, there are strong hopes for an exciting result in the 13:10 race.

Delta Work:

Secondly, Delta Work is also in the line light in the Cross Country Chase at 14:10.

For the second year running, Delta Work is seen to be a top favourite to win the Glenfarclas Chase despite a coming third at Cheltenham earlier this year.

With the odds staying firmly in his favour, jockey Keith Donoghue gets ready to ride Delta Work on the tracks.

Unlike Impaire Et Passe, set to ride earlier in the day, the Delta Work hasn’t placed in the top three rankings since their last Cheltenham visit alongside trainer Willie Mullins.

Dinoblue:

In the 16:50 Grand Annual Challenge Cup Chase, Luke Dempsey gets ready to take the reigns of Dinoblue in yellow and green stripe.

Since Dinoblue came second to Magic Daze (who is not at the Cheltenham Races this year) back in February, trainer Mullins hopes that this horse will be amongst the winnings of his other horse, Impaire Et Passe.

Compared to Dinoblue’s competitors, the horse may lack the experience of the race but he has the potential to take the first place victory.
