Chairman Chris Wright is ‘very confident we can win’ ahead of their away trip down south to Bashley.
Evesham United go into this game sat on 34 points battling for playoffs whereas the hosts sit on 18 points just five points above the drop zone.
The two teams have previously met twice this season.
One in the FA Trophy where Bashley won 8-7 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 in 90 minutes.
The other game was in fact The Robins first league win of the season which came on October 14th as they ran away with three points winning 2-0.
Players to look out for?
A number of Evesham players are ones to look out for in today’s game and the two that stand out at the moment are Ethan Moran and Levi Steele.
Moran has spent a lot of the season on the sidelines with numerous injuries and missed around two months after their second game of the season.
He proved to be a big miss for The Robins and even when he came back around November, he “took a while to integrate into the team” said Mike Ford (Evesham’s manager) after Moran’s last-minute equaliser against Cribbs.
Especially in the new year, Moran has been a vital player in this new year unbeaten run spanning all the way back to the 26th December having previously lost against bottom of the league Exmouth Town 4-2 on the 23rd.
The next man to look out for is Steele. He’s been the main man up top for Evesham all season scoring numerous goals.
The Robins’ number nine has scored 14 goals in 22 games and has taken a massive leap in his career after previously playing Step seven three seasons ago.
These two players providing they start will look to get on the scoresheet and get the visitors the win they need in their push for promotion.
Fan View
“It’s a great time for fans at the club and this is just the start” said Ford after their 1-0 win away to Westbury United.
Speaking to Andy Beasley a hardcore Evesham fan, who does the voice over the tannoy, he says ‘at the start of the season I was Ford out and he was getting most things wrong but now that’s all changed’.
Asked about a chance of the title Beasley said “never say no as there is still plenty to play for but I think it’s unlikely and I think we’d have to settle for play offs if you were to ask me when we hadn’t won for the first two months.
Evesham remain nine points off the top however, Wimborne Town who are currently top have two games in hand over The Robins.
So, if Evesham were to be looking to go for the title, a major slip up would be needed from Wimborne’s side.
