Swindon Town made it four games unbeaten on Saturday with impressive 2-1 win over Rotherham United who finished the game with nine men.
Scottish midfielder, Jack Thomson scored his first goal for the club after his summer move from Kilmarnock. The midfielder stated:
“I’m really happy, I think we could have made it a bit easier the last 15 minutes, I think it was a couple of mistakes but I think for a lot of the game we were really good so it’s an important three points.
“The last few weeks have been pretty positive so we need to keep that momentum.”

Rotherham went down to ten men in inside four minutes after Jili Buyabu was sent off for violent conduct. Swindon took advantage of the situation with Thomson scoring a minute before the interval.
The Millers found themselves down to nine men after Dominic Iorfa was sent off for a last man challenge, though the red card was strange in it’s nature.
Matty Virtue saw himself through on goal before Iorfa’s challenge, however, the ball kindly fell into the path of captain Aaron Drinan who slotted the ball home, however he was offside in the build-up leading to the goal being chalked off.
Referee Isaac Searle called the play back and sent off Iorfa, with Rotherham manager, Alex Bruce following him into the dressing room after receiving a straight red card on the sidelines.
Swindon doubled their lead from the resulting free-kick with loanee Joseph Hungbo scoring his second goal for the Robins.
Rotherham got a goal back in the 87th minute with Denzel Hall’s strike following a set-piece.
On Thomson’s first Robins goal, Town manager, Ian Holloway stated:
“He’s a wonderful lad, he’s settled now. His wife and baby are down here, you could tell he looks pleased about being here.
“I want to say well done Jack, I think it took a deflection, but it went in, that’s all the boy did and we need that.”
The result took Swindon to 13th in League Two, however, Holloway wasn’t impressed with the win.
“Probably the least enjoyable game of all my thousands. It was bizarre and weird. Why their player did that early in the game I don’t know.
“That then led us to not knowing what we’re doing against ten and then where are we going here in a really big pressure game because they are where they are in the league.
“We got three points and that’s the only good thing I can say about it really.”
Swindon return to action in the FA Cup on 7 November against League One outfit MK Dons, whereas Rotherham take on Newcastle United U21’s tomorrow in the EFL Trophy.
