After making his 100th appearance against Gloucester City’s 5-0 win over Wimborne, captain Keiran Thomas becomes the 153rd City player to reach the achievement since 1889.
The defender was awarded a celebratory plaque by his manager Daf Williams before their home match vs Bracknell Town on Saturday afternoon.

“It felt incredible to be awarded with the plaque, especially in front of those fans who have been immense this season,” Thomas said.
“We wanted to do that today for Reg, a loyal city supporter who has been supporting through thick and thin, he was in the changing room before and after the game, we did that for him today.”
It’s been a tough season for Thomas after suffering a knee injury back in October in a 2-0 win over Bracknell Town which saw the 30-year-old side-lined for a few months.
His manager Williams has been impressed since returning “We’re delighted for him, that’s for sure. He’s been brilliant since he’s come back in from his injury, he’s been outstanding.
“We also presented him with a 100-appearance shirt today from the previous home game. So, I’m sure that topped off a nice day for him and his family.”
The game ended 1-0 to the Tigers with the only goal scored by Thomas to secure a really important three points in their push for promotion.
“To score and win the game with that goal was unbelievable, but we’ve worked so hard defensively recently, that save from Jarrad at the end, everyone put in a massive shift. That’s what we want, is clean sheets every week,” Thomas said.

Someone who has been influential in the defensive is Jamal Mohammed, who joined in on loan from West Brom and has been vital to the change in defensive form.
The 20-year-old has already won a player of the month in February for the club and Thomas highlights the effect the young man has made.
“He’s unbelievable, he’s honestly so good, a Rolls Royce of a defender, calm, composed and since joining, has been a fantastic addition to the club, and will be influential in our push for promotion.”
Next up for Gloucester is Berkhamsted away from home who sit eighth just three points outside the playoffs, and with only nine games left Thomas knows every game is going to be a battle.
“It’s going to be really tough, they were really good in the reverse fixture so we’re expecting another good game.
“There are no easy games in this league and I think that shows in who beats who, up and down the table, but we know what we need to do.”
With only nine games off the season left City captain is calling the fans to continue their support and get behind the players.
