Matt McClure pleased with Gloucester City’s defensive performance against Boston United

Gloucester City remained top of the National League North table after a goalless draw with Boston United last Saturday

The Tigers are without a win in their last three matches, but can take plenty of positives from their most recent contest.

It was City’s first home clean sheet since October 2019.

The club’s leading scorer this season, Matt McClure, is recovering from a leg injury but was able to watch his side from the dugout.

He said: “They were really solid, they dug in.

“[The result is] probably fair, we got a clean sheet which is good. We potentially could’ve nicked it though, we got into good positions but couldn’t find the final pass or shot.

“All in all good football from the boys, which is positive.”

The Tigers are next in action on Saturday, as they travel to Curzon Ashton.
