UOG Golf Travel To Plymouth For Their Third League Game Of The Season

The University of Gloucestershire Golf team travel to Plymouth on Wednesday in their third league game of the season.

Gloucestershire are unbeaten after the first two rounds of fixtures and will be looking to keep that form heading into Wednesday.

I spoke to the Vice captain of the University of Gloucestershire team Tom Skinner about their season so far and what he and the team are expecting for the rest of the season.

On the first two games of the season Tom said “Well I think we’ve got two of the most difficult teams out of the way already with a win and a draw with Bristol and Bournemouth”.

Tom who has won both of his matches so far this season and is expecting to keep the unbeaten run going against Plymouth, “In the past we’ve had some joy playing against Plymouth so we’ll definitely be looking to come back home with a win”. Although he did add it could be a “difficult afternoon” if the weather comes into play.

After finishing second in the league last season Gloucestershire are hoping to go one better this season while also defending their cup trophy from last season. Tom is keeping his feet on the ground and believes hard work can help them achieve their goals.

He said “If we just carry on doing the things we’re doing in training and making small improvements we’ll definitely be in contention to win the league come next March”.
