Various members of the industry were full of fond memories, including current BBC commentators, Steve Wilson and Match of the Day presenter, Gary Lineker;
Peter Brackley. One of the great names of BBC Radio Sport. A wonderful commentator & the voice of Italian football when it was the best league going. Above all, a very funny and very warm man. Saw him at The Amex regularly and will miss him making me smile. Another sad day.

But it will be Channel 4’s coverage of the Serie A that Peter will be remembered most fondly for, as he oversaw the start of FootballItalia following Paul Gascoigne’s ground-breaking transfer to Lazio in 1992 and was the voice of Italian football in this country for a decade.
