Twitter reacts to controversial Callum Smith decision

On Saturday night, Liverpool’s Callum Smith defended his WBA super middleweight title against John Ryder in Liverpool.

The biggest talking point was the scorecards as many believed they were far off the truth.

Ryder came in to the fight as a big underdog but after a great performance from the Londoner, some thought he did enough to win the fight despite the scorecards being widely in favor for Smith.

Here is what Twitter had to say on the controversial decision:

Michael Benson – Online boxing editor for TalkSport
He’s got a dog for his picture and his @ is VeryNiceChap. Hard to argue with that.
For a guy who has a totally different name to his @, he makes a very cohesive argument.
The Bomber speaks…
Phenomenal and articulate counter argument from J.K here
It wouldn’t be Twitter without a bit of No Context Hearn now would it.
Lou DiBella – American Boxing Promoter
In the strange world of boxing it is Dave Allen (boxer) of all people who makes the most sense in all of this.
And finally, Adam Catterall – presenter on TalkSport and BT Sport
