Gloucester City have confirmed that they will be appealing the suspension of goalkeeper Jasbir Singh.
Singh, who was sent off against Curzon Ashton on Saturday for handling the ball outside the box will be suspended for Saturday’s trip to Chorley if the appeal is rejected.
A club spokesman said that a decision is expected within a few days.
Referee Savvas Yianni handed a red card to the shot stopper despite video replays showing that the ball looks to have struck the chest of Singh. With no substitute goalkeeper, midfielder Joe Hanks put on the keeper jersey with his side a goal down.
Moments before The Tigers appealed for a penalty as the ball struck the arm of a Curzon defender inside the box, but Yannis waved away the protests.
Liam Tomsett’s goal opened the scoring and the drama soon followed, with Curzon adding a second in injury time through Adam Morgan.
Tim Harris’ side now occupy 7th place in the National League North, however their promotion hopes are still alive as they sit just two points behind Tamworth and the play-off places.
