Ever thought about how much you actually spend watching your football team every season?

Well, the results of the BBC’s annual Price of Football survey were released last week and the findings are startling.

The survey includes Gloucestershire’s very own Cheltenham Town and Forest Green.

As a Cheltenham Town season ticket holder you could potentially spend £822.60 over the course of 23 home league games.

Forest Green Rovers rank 11th in their respective division in regards to the cheapest adult season ticket available.

So what have we learned?

  • There is just a £7.70 difference between the cost of watching Cheltenham Town and Forest Green over the course of a season.
  • Forest Green Rovers sell one of the cheapest cups of teas in League Two
  • Based on last season, Forest Green Rovers fans paid less than half of what Cheltenham Fans do to witness a goal scored at home.
  • A pie at every Forest Green Rovers match will set you back an extra £6.90 over the course of the season in comparison to a pie at every Cheltenham Town home match.

The BBC surveyed all clubs from the top five men’s leagues in England, the top four Scottish leagues, the premier divisions in Wales and Northern Ireland, and the two Women’s Super Leagues. Ballinamallard, Coleraine, Crusaders, Dungannon, Linfield and Warrenpoint failed to respond.
