Six games to go to in Gloucestershire over the international break

This weekend sees another international break as Premier League and Championship clubs take a week off.

Cheltenham Town’s fixture with Newport County has been postponed due to international call ups, leaving many football fans in Gloucestershire without a game to go to over the weekend.

It gives fans a chance to go and see a side they would not usually watch.

Here at Park Life Sport, we will run through six games in Gloucestershire that you should go and watch to get your football fix.

  1. Cirencester Town v Basingstoke Town- FA Trophy, Preliminary Round.

Cirencester Town will be favourites to win their FA Trophy Preliminary Round match against Basingstoke Town.

The home side currently sit in mid table in the BetVictor Southern League One South. Their opponents Basingstoke sit third bottom, winning just one of their opening nine games this season.

2. Evesham United v Halesowen Town- FA Trophy Preliminary Round.

Evesham United will be hoping to take their league form into their FA Trophy Preliminary game against Halesowen Town.

Evesham currently sit fourth in the BetVictor Southern League One South. Halesowen are also in good form this season as they are in fifth place in BetVictor Southern League One Central.

This game has all the ingredients of being a tight cup-tie.

3.Slimbridge v AFC TottonFA Trophy Preliminary Round.

Slimbridge have started well in the BetVictor Southern League One South winning five out of their opening eight games.

Their opponents AFC Totton have struggled so far with just two wins this campaign.

4. Bishop’s Cleeve v Brokenhurst FA Vase first round

Two high flyers go head to head on Saturday as Bishop’s Cleeve face Brokenhurst.

Both sides sit in second place in their respective leagues and will be looking to have a cup run to add to their early season form.

5. Longlevens AFC v Cowes Sport FA Vase first round

Longlevens face Cowes Sport who are based in the Isle of Wight in their FA Vase Trophy first round.

The home side sit in mid table winning four out of their opening 10 games this season.

The visitors Cowe Sports have struggled so far this season as they are fourth bottom in the Sydenhams Football League

6. Tuffley Rovers v Holmer Green UHLsport Hellenic League Premier

Both Tuffley Rovers and Holmer Green would have been hoping to have better starts to their league campaigns.

They are both currently sitting in the bottom half of the table but with only nine games played, there is still time to kick on this season.
