REVIEW: Non-League Day Football round-up

New Gloucester City manager Chris Todd watched on from the stands as the Tigers lost 1-0 away at Billericay Town.

Moses Emmanuel scored the only goal of the game from close range, moving Billericay two points clear at the top of the National League South table.

City were unlucky not to come away with anything from the game, after a positive performance that will give Todd a lot to think about ahead his first match in charge this weekend.

Gloucester City play in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round against Bromley at the Jubilee Stadium on Saturday 20 October.

The windy conditions couldn’t stop Bishops Cleeve extending their unbeaten run to five games, after comfortably beating Ardley United 3-1 at Kayte Lane.

Goals from Harrison Iddles, Brad Martin and Kevin Slack gave Steve Cleal’s side the three points in a game heavily influenced by Storm Callum.

Bishops Cleeve next play away to Holmer Green at Watchet Lane on Saturday 27 October.

Cheltenham Saracens moved three points clear at the top of the Hellenic League – One West table thanks to an Adam Loveridge brace securing a 2-0 win over Easington Sports on Saturday.

Both teams were unbeaten heading into the game but it was the home side that continued their unbeaten run, extending it to six games.

Saracens have only conceded two goals in their opening six games, scoring 21 in the process.

Saracens next play Malmesbury Victoria at Petersfield Park on Saturday 3 November.

Longlevens AFC suffered extra-time heartache after they were knocked out of the FA Vase first round after a 3-1 home defeat against Tavistock AFC at Saw Mills End.

Striker James Campbell equalised for Longlevens to make it 1-1 in the first-half with neither team able to stop the game going to extra-time.

Liam Prynn completed his hat-trick late in the second-half of extra-time, seeing the Devon side progress into the second round.

Longlevens are back in Hellenic Premier League action against Binfield on Saturday 27 October.

Meanwhile, Cinderford Town have will play against Street FC in the FA Trophy first round next Saturday.
