What Chance Do Forest Have?

Following a poor start to the season, having won just won out of their opening five League matches, Nottingham Forest have since slumped to 15th place in the championship table. Aitor Karanka’s side have won just two out of their previous four games.

The reds have struggled over recent weeks and recently appointed Karanka has struggled to make the intended impact on the former Premier League Club. Top goalscorer Kieran Dowell tried to propel his team into the top half of the Championship table however Forest’s defensive frailties have shown over revert weeks, with a most notable home defeat at the hands of hull city back in early February.

Can The Rams Be Hattled…

Derby County have enjoyed an enjoyable season in the second tier of English football, having climbed up to third position following a run of seven games unbeaten at the beginning of the campaign.

The rams have since dropped down to fifth place behind fellow play off competitors of Fulham and Aston Villa, however could still end the season strongly with favourable fixtures for the team in Black and White. This afternoon’s visitors play against Burton and Barnsley amongst their remaining four League games and will feel they are in a strong position going into the final stages of the season.

More Than Just A Game

With a considerable amount at stake between the two teams, there is also personal pride and rivalries on the line in the East Midlands derby. Two teams that fly the flag for the most prestigious sides within the region and will both be hoping for bragging rights come the end of the game.

Derby cruised to victory when the sides met back in October and reduced their League opponents to a 2-0 defeat courtesy of goals from Matej Vydra and David Nugent. Therefore the Karanka’s men will be hoping to right a few wrongs as they head into a crucial game.

Battle Of The Managers

Who will come out on top… Will it be Aitor Karanka or Gary Roweitt? Both managers have good pedigree and both sides are in good form, so it will be a battle of the in form sides.
