PREVIEW: Forest Green Rovers vs. Wrexham

Forest Green Rovers could go level on points with league leaders Lincoln City if they beat Wrexham on Saturday.

Mark Cooper’s side are still in the mix for promotion after their midweek victory over Sutton United, however the Imps will have three games in hand as they are in FA Trophy action.

Their opponents Wrexham have had a less than impressive season. After sacking Gary Mills in October, the club’s hierarchy opted for club legend Dean Keates to take the club forward. Currently occupying 10th in the league and have two defeats in their last 10, the Dragons will be aiming to achieve as high a league position as possible.


The Green Devils will be boosted by the decision by the FA to overturn Mark Ellis’ red card that he received in South West London. The 28 year-old was sent off in the closing stages after bring down Maxim Biamou. Cooper also doesn’t have any fish injury concerns ahead of the fixture.

Wrexham were victorious in the reverse fixture in North Wales earlier in the season, winning the game 3-1. However, the last game at The New Lawn ended in a 0-0 draw, a match in which Wrexham finished with nine men.

Keates will have full-back James Jennings available after his hearing, which will be the final game before his three game ban. New signing Iffy Allen could finally make his debut after picking up an injury in training.
