Following on from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Newport County, Mark Cooper’s side will be keen to keep build on their 4-0 win over local rivals Cheltenham Town, when they take on 2016/17 champions Coventry at the Ricoh Arena in their second Checkatrade Trophy group stage match.
Rovers enjoyed playing Coventry last season, beating them 1-0 at the Ricoh and 2-1 at the New Lawn, however, Coventry will pose a stern test to the League Two side, despite struggling to find consistent form this season. Currently 14th in the table, the Sky Blues head into the game in a confident mood, after beating Charlton 2-1 over the weekend.
Rovers currently sit top of their Checkatrade trophy group after one game and have not lost yet in 90 minutes in any competition this season.
Coventry will hope to bounce back after opening their campaign with a 3-0 loss to an Arsenal under 21s side containing new breakout star, Emile Smith Rowe.
Rovers are expected to make minimal to changes to their side, as they look to secure maximum points from their first two games.
The Sky Blues will also be expected to field close to their strongest possible side as they look to regain the trophy they won back in 2016/17.
Tickets for the tie are still available for the tie with Under 18s paying £5 and Adults £10. Rovers Ticket Office Telephone Line on 0333 123 1889, from their website or in person at The New Lawn.
