PREVIEW: Cambridge United V Forest Green Rovers

Forest Green Rovers maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday as they drew 1-1 with Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose.

Mark Cooper’s side travelled to the League Two newbies as the divisions only unbeaten team and they preserved their status as they shared the points with the Silkmen and established their place in the playoff places.

Cambridge currently sit in 20th position in League Two and are coming off the back of a 4-2 defeat by Newport County.

The U’s led 2-0 at Rodney Parade after 20 minutes but conceded four goals without reply in Wales.

The star men:

Reuben Reid, FGR – The striker has been in fine form for the Green Devils so far this season netting on four occasions. Reid joined the club from Exeter City during the January transfer window last season and put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal in Gloucestershire. He is Rovers’ top firing marksman this campaign and will be a handful for the Cambridge defence on Tuesday.

Reggie Lambe, Cambridge United – Lambe opened his account for the season on Saturday after grabbing both goals in the defeat to Newport. The well travelled midfielder joined the U’s from Carlisle United during the summer and signed a two year contract at the Abbey Business Stadium. The Bermudan international has been capped 28 times by his country and scored 6 goals since his debut in 2007.

The last time they met:

FOREST GREEN 5 – 2 CAMBRIDGE

Despite leading 2-1 at the New Lawn, Cambridge capitulated and suffered a big defeat in Nailsworth. The U’s took the lead through George Maris after three minutes but were pegged back by a Christian Doidge goal. Medy Elito put Cambridge back ahead in the 25th minute but a Dayle Grubb goal ensured the sides went in level at the break. Doidge and Grubb were both on hand to grab another goal in the second half, before Tahvon Campbell made it five in stoppage time.
