Arsenal vs Watford (13:30PM)
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Arsenal are likely to recall striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he sat out Thursday night’s Europa League triumph in Milan due to ineligibility.
Left-back Sead Kolasinac and centre-half Callum Chambers face late fitness tests ahead of the game as both left the San Siro with minor knocks.
The game comes just too soon for influential midfielder Tom Cleverley, despite his return to training during the week.
The Hornets will also be without recent absentees Craig Cathcart, Younes Kaboul, Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success.
Arsenal disastrous away form has seen them lose 10 games on the road already, with Watford being one of them, inflicting a 2-1 defeat on the Gunners back in October, a result which ultimately, has defined their season so far.
The Hornets can make it a hat-trick of consecutive league victories over Arsene Wenger’s side, and a win today would see them move up to 9th place as Javi Gracia looks to seal the club’s highest ever league finish since the Premier League era began.
Since Gracia took the reigns from Marco Silva in January, Watford have lost just one of his five games in charge, although are winless in their last six visits to London.
The pressure is mounting on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who is into his 21st season at the helm and there have been many calls amongst the gunners faithful for him to step-down at between now and the end of the season, although the Frenchman does still have one more year on his current contract.
Dependant on North London rivals Tottenham’s result against AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal could end the day 10 points adrift from the top four with the end of season run-in imminently approaching.
