It was a poor weekend for the local sides within the county as they failed to register a single win.
Cirencester Town came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at second-placed Bristol Manor Farm in Southern League Division One West. Despite the comeback, the result now means they have failed to win in the last five matches and subsequently slip to 17th in the table.
Cinderford Town picked up a respectable 1-1 draw against promotion-chasing Salisbury. The Foresters are now unbeaten in four since they lost to local rivals Cirencester in October and sit in 16th position in the league table.
Evesham United were comfortably beaten 3-0 at home by top of the table Taunton Town. It was the Robins’ first defeat in five as they slip to fifth in the table, seven points behind the league leaders.
Ten-man Bishops Cleeve were beaten 3-1 at 15th placed North Leigh. A red card and a penalty were awarded against Cleeve in what was another frustrating day for the league’s bottom-placed side, despite taking the lead.
Shortwood United suffered back-to-back defeats as they lost 3-1 at home to AFC Totton. The result sees them sit in 20th position, just three points ahead of Bishops Cleeve.
Slimbridge’s game at Swindon Supermarine was abandoned after a serious injury to striker Marley Thomas. They play Wimbourne Town at home next Saturday.
