MMA strikes London: Bellator and Cage Warriors 111

Mixed martial arts returned to the capital this past weekend with Cage Warriors 111 at the O2 Indigo and Bellator London at the SSE Arena.

With the likes of Liverpool’s Paddy Pimblett (who unfortunately didn’t fight) and London’s Michael “Venom” Page drawing in fans, the weekend was full of fights despite the lack of a UFC card.

The UFC has long been the promotion in MMA and it continues to put on stellar events when the octagon does travel to the UK for it’s annual London event in March.

With Cage Warriors continuing to lead the way for the sport in Europe and Bellator closing out it’s ‘European Series’ of fight nights and promising to do more each year, MMA has never been in a better place regarding the UK, it no longer needs the UFC name to sell an event.
