Minella Indo wins the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle on Gold Cup day

50/1 long shot Minella Indo, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, won the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle on Gold Cup day.

Commander Of Fleet, ridden by J W Kennedy, was 4/1 favorite ahead of the race and pushed Minella Indo to the finish line but could only place in second.

Allaho pipped Dickie Diver to third in another very tight run.

Blackmore celebrated her first win at the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday, and was able to bring home her second upon the six-year-old in today’s 2:50pm race.

Speaking afterwards, Blackmore said: “I can’t believe it!

“I always knew he was a really nice horse, definitely thought he was going to be in with a shout but you just don’t think it’s going to work out.

“I’m very grateful for the support that I’m getting.
