Cheltenham Town boss Michael Duff: “It doesn’t matter who you play in this league, there’s always funny results.”

There’s only one place to start, and that’s with “El Glosico” which took place at the weekend. The match ended 1-1 and Duff thinks that they probably deserved more:

“I was pleased with the performance, not so much the result.

“I think the key moment was at 1-0 and the referee decision. They probably thought it was a foul, we didn’t think it was a foul. If you flip it round we’d probably say it was. There were also two chances.”

Their opponents for tomorrow haven’t won a game in their last five attempts, but Duff certainly knows not to underestimate them:

“I think they’re a good team. From the games that I’ve seen they look a good team. It’s a tough place to go.

“I watched their last three games and they were very good at the weekend as well. They’ve got some good players and we’re not on a great run ourselves.

Duff is still yet to get his first with as Cheltenham boss but he believes it’s only a matter of time until all their hard work on the training ground pays off.:

“It’s not rubbish when you say it’s one game at a time.

“All we can do is work hard, keep delivering performances and I truly believe they’ll pay it back in the end.”

Loanee Jacob Maddox has impressed Duff with his quality since his arrival but still expects more to come from the midfielder:

“Sometimes you get players who come down from the top leagues and think they’re too good to be here. He’s taken the challenge on.

“He knows what he needs to do. He probably won’t have played this volume of games. There’s no doubt he can play but it’s the other aspects of this game which is why he’s been sent out on loan.

“One thing he needs to do, and we’ve had a chat about it, is add numbers to his game.”

The match kicks off tomorrow at 7:45pm at Boundary Park.
