Following another busy weekend, three of Gloucestershire’s biggest sides continue to battle for promotion and steering away from relegation with all three in the mix as we begin to head into the Christmas period.
Kidderminster Harriers v Gloucester City
The Tigers fell from seventh to ninth on the weekend following their 4-1 away loss to second placed Chorley at Victory Park. Luke Hopper’s recent return has been a positive having scored nine goals before picking up an injury. He got the City goal which now sees him enter double figures for the campaign. Harriers’ 3-0 win over Gainsborough has put them in 5th and occupying the final play-off spot, they will be looking to gather momentum but Tim Harris’ side will need some confidence with a weekend home clash with AFC Fylde at Whaddon Road on Saturday, a side who beat Boston United 9-2 on the weekend.
Cirencester Town v Dorchester
Following a 6-0 drubbing to the hands of Biggleswade on Saturday, Cirencester have conceded ten goals in their last two matches. Having had a good run of form, they’ve lost their last two with the other being a a 4-1 home loss to Banbury. Having lifted themselves to 21st, they could leapfrog to three places with a win over Dorchester who sit in 17th and won’t want to be dragged down into the cluster of struggling sides.
Cinderford Town v Chippenham Town
With just one point from their last 36 available and no wins since August, bottom side Cinderford face high-flying Chippenham in what is expected to be one of the toughest games this season. Chippenham have just three losses this season in comparison to 16 losses for Cinderford and the odds seem to be firmly against the Foresters.
