Cheltenham Town travel to promotion hopefuls Exeter City tonight, a game which holds high significance for both sides. A win for the Robins would see Gary Johnson’s side take another huge step to guaranteeing League Two safety, whilst anything less than a win for hosts Exeter, could see them fall out of the division’s play-off places.
Gary Johnson’s side have been in fine form of late, losing just one of their previous five fixtures, a 2-0 defeat to table topping Doncaster last time out. In contrast, opponents Exeter City have been in poor form managing just two wins since the start of February. Despite this, The Grecians still occupy the final play-off place in League Two.
Cheltenham manager, Gary Johnson, should be back to manage the side following his absence in the defeat to Doncaster Rovers. However, Cheltenham will be without the suspended Will Boyle and Kyle Storer, whilst Liam Davis remains a doubt (Illness) following the defender’s departure at half-time on Saturday. Daniel O’ Shaughnessy is set to come into the side to replace Boyle.
Cheltenham defender Jack Barthram remains positive about the Robins’ chances going forward.
