Gloucester’s Scott Redding topped the double Bennett’s British Superbike standings at Donington Park in an enthralling race on Sunday.
The Be Wiser Ducati racer finished ahead of teammate Josh Brooks and extended his lead at the top of the standings, moving onto 620 points.
Brookes set a 1’28.987 mins as he closed in on Redding but it was just not enough and the Gloucestershire rider now has more than a race win advantage in terms of points.
Redding pulled out a two-second advantage with five laps to go but the 2015 BSB narrowed the gap to four-tenths of a second at the start of the final lap.
But he kept clear of Brookes to claim his 11th victory of the season and extend his BSB championship lead to 28 points heading into the triple-header BSB finale at Brands Hatch.
