Gloucester Rugby get bonus-point in defeat against Wasps

Wasps have defeated Gloucester 39-22, but the Cherry and Whites will travel home with a bonus point after scoring four tries.

In an exciting first-half, tries from Jack Willis, Josh Bassett and Jacob Umaga gave Wasps a 22 point lead before Gloucester got onto the score sheet.

Gloucester’s point means they stay 9th in the Gallagher Premiership while Wasps now sit just outside the top four.

Gloucester dug deep to claw back the 22 point deficit with tries from Tom Marshall and Ollie Thorley, but Wasps’ Josh Bassett scored their fourth try of the afternoon.

Billy Twelvetrees and Lloyd Evans scored for Gloucester either side of a Malakai Fekitoa try after the break.

Gloucester have now lost their last six matches in all competitions.
