Gloucester Rugby: Does Danny Cipriani deserve to be in the England squad?

To say that many fans were shocked when a certain fly-half didn’t make the England squad. This of course is Danny Cipriani. Love or hate him, you can’t deny his talent.

Eddie Jones has claimed that his decision to leave Cipriani is due to rugby reasons, but many believe this isn’t true.

Many believe that Eddie Jones didn’t pick him because of his disciplinary issues, but continues to deny this.

Cipriani has had a great start to the season starting every game for Gloucester and scoring his first try which has just been nominated for Citizen’s try of the week.

There have been many moments of brilliance including a fantastic long pass against Northampton Saints.

Whenever an England squad is being spoken of, his name is always put out there as one who should be involved in the England squad, but it almost never appears.

The real question here is who would you take out of the squad? For many that is an easy answer. George Ford. The Leicester Tiger’s fly half was a regular in the England squad and team until the World Cup in 2015 where his performances caused him to be dropped.

So would you pick Cipriani or is George Ford the best fit?

Here are the final results of the poll Park Life Sport ran on twitter:

This shows that 76% of the 91 voters believe that Cipriani should be in the England squad.

Since his arrival at Gloucester, Cipriani has very much been established as a crowd favourite. It is understandable to why the poll results are as they are.

His performances from the start of his Cherry and Whites career have endeared him to the fans.

His form so far this season has been good, but according to Jones, not good enough. Do you agree? What more does Cipriani have to do to make the squad? Do you think disciplinary issues are the problem? Will he make the World Cup squad for next year? All valid questions which only time will tell us the answers to.
