Gerwyn Price retains Grand Slam of Darts Title

Gerwyn Price dominated Peter Wright in the Grand Slam of Darts final to retain his title.

The Iceman threw 11 180-maximums as he beat Wright 16-6 to extend his winning streak in Wolverhampton to 11.

Price rises to third on the PDC Order of Merit after knocking out world number one Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals, before winning the final on Sunday.

The 34-year-old joins six others, including Phil Taylor and van Gerwen, in defending a PDC televised title.

After a controversial 2018 final where Price was accused of slow play and over-exuberant celebrations, the crowds boos were replaced with cheers after his spectacular display, as he lifted the Eric Bristow Trophy.
