Former Hartpury pupil makes history

Former Hartpury College pupil, Sebastien Negri has helped his club side Benetton create history by becoming the first Italian side to qualify for the PRO 14 play-offs.

Italy international Negri has been pivotal in turning the fortunes around for the Treviso based side with his industrious style of play.

The PRO 14 changed their league structure back in 2017 with the introduction of the Cheetahs and Southern Kings, with an introduction of two conferences.

Benetton finished third in conference B and as a result will travel to Munster in the quarter-finals with the hopes of making the semi-finals.

Along with their place in the play-offs, Benetton have also qualified for the European Champions cup for the first time in two years.

Ahead of their return to the Champions Cup, the Italian side have announced the signing of Munster stalwart, Ian Keatley.

Keatley moves to Italy following a brief stint with London Irish.
