Forest Green Rovers poor form continued as they were beaten 1-0 by Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
John McAtee scored the only goal of the game just after the break, as the Green Devils slipped to tenth in the table.
The result sees Mark Cooper’s side fall nine points behind the play off places and their hopes of promotion are fading.
Scunthorpe forward John McAtee came close to scoring a second but his effort was well kept out by Rovers stopper Lewis Thomas.
Rovers had a great opportunity to secure a point in the last few minutes, Centre-back Farrend Rawson heading over from close-range.
“(I’m) frustrated. We were comfortable in the first-half and I thought it was a matter of time before we took the lead,” Cooper said after the game
“Straight away, we conceded a horrendous goal. They have something to hold onto, throwing themselves in front of things – getting blocks – which is what they are going to do”.
