BREAKING: Ex-Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates sacked by fellow League Two side Macclesfield Town

Mark Yates spent five years as Cheltenham manager between 2009-2014. He took the Robins to the League Two play-off final in 2012 losing to Crewe. The following season he took Cheltenham to the play-offs again losing in the semi-final to Northampton.

Yates departs with newly promoted Macclesfield at the foot of the League Two table having taken just 4 points from their first 12 games and still awaiting their first win.

Macclesfield and Cheltenham played out a 1-1 draw when the two sides met in August at Moss Rose.

Yates had joined The Silkmen from Solihull Moors over the summer taking over from John Askey following promotion to the EFL.
