Izzy Christiansen is major doubt for England after undergoing ankle surgery just 90 days before the Women’s World Cup.
Christiansen picked up the injury during the SheBelieves Cup win over Japan on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old had begins her rehabilitation programme after successful surgery on her ankle, with Lyon refusing to comment on an expected return date.
“We were delighted to hear from Izzy yesterday that her operation went well,” Lionesses coach Phil Neville said about the former Manchester City player.
“We are all wishing her a speedy recovery and will be supporting her in every way we can during her rehabiliation.”
