Forest Green Rovers will look to cause a major shock when they head to the Ricoh Arena to face promotion chasing Coventry City on Tuesday night.
Mark Cooper’s side head into the clash on the back of a hugely-disappointing 4-0 defeat to Newport County at the New Lawn on Saturday. The result sees Rovers extends their winless run to 10 league games, heaping the pressure on under-fire boss Cooper.
The midweek fixture is the first ever meeting between the two sides. With the 1987 FA Cup winners seen as the biggest scalp in the division, Forest Green will no doubt look to respond from the weekend’s loss.
The defeat also saw the League Two outfit fall into the relegation zone, two points behind fellow strugglers Port Vale, who defeated Cheltenham Town 3-1.

The Sky Blues, now managed by Mark Robins, have adapted well to life in the forth tier following relegation last season. Despite a 1-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley at the weekend, they currently sit in 7th place and are only four points off the last automatic promotion place, currently occupied by Luton Town.
There is huge expectations that Coventry will be challenging for promotion and a return to League One by the end of the season.
A big reason for Coventry’s bright start to the season is their home form, with the Sky Blues winning five out of their six matches at the Ricoh Arena. This makes the challenge even bigger for the Gloucestershire-based side, who have failed to win any of their first six away games, picking up just two points.
