Gloucester-Hartpury star Megan Goddard won the player of the match award in the first ever fixture for the Barbarians women’s side.
Goddard was more than a key factor as the renowned invitational side sealed a 19-0 victory over Munster at Thomond Park in Limerick, Ireland.
Megan Goddard was one of two English players in the Baa Baa’s team which featured players from seven countries.
The women’s Barbarians team was only launched last month, and further matches against Club, Provincial and International sides are already being planned with the aim of creating a full fixtures list by the end of the year.
The women’s game was followed by the male Barbarians side who faced Tonga in a closer contest. The Barbarians ran out 27-24 winners despite a pair of early tries by Tonga.
The Baa Baa’s took a 1 point lead in to half time and despite going down again midway in to the second half thanks to a try by Sione Vailanu, scores by Jordi Murphy and Simone Favaro enabled the Barabarians to come away with the win.
