Cheltenham Town 1-1 Cambridge United
Will Boyle’s second goal in as many games helped Cheltenham Town move into the League Two promotion places as they scraped a 1-1 draw at home to Cambridge on Saturday.
The Yorkshireman headed in a Ben Tozer cross in the 53rd minute to help cancel out Paul Lewis’s first half opener for United.
Cheltenham were unlucky not to take in the 26th minute when Ryan Broom’s low ball was nearly forced over the line by Alex Addai, but his effort went just wide of the post
Lewis put Cambridge in front a minute later, firing past Scott Flinders from seven yards after a cross from Kyle Knoyle on the right.
Cheltenham were rocked and only a reaction save from goalkeeper Flinders denied Lewis a second in the 36th minute.
The home side picked things up after a break and made all the early second-half running and finally squared things up through Boyle early on in the second half.
The Robins looked to most likely team to snatch all 3 points and further cement themselves as one of the promotion favourites this season.
The point sees them into the top 3 on goal difference as they look to get revenge for their second round FA cup defeat by Port Vale by beating the Valliant’s on Saturday.
